How to: Go CURLY.

I am a queen crowned in my curls.
Welcome to my blog! In today's post, I am sharing the most basic and important knowledge you should have for going curly. If you are a curlyhead, you know it's not just 'bout simply shampooing and conditioning. I have spent two years figuring out how exactly shall we take care of our hair. For the whole life before that, I was a walking poofy cloud. But, that time's gone. Now I know what is good for my hair, and what ain't. Honestly, I am still learning. I love to know about new methods and new tools and trying out new brand products. I am still curious to know more and learn about new things out there in this curly wurly world.
So w/o further, let's unleash our curls!

 #1 Detangle
The first important thing in going curly is to let your curls stay. sounds crazy, doesn't it?
And the most important step in letting your curls stay is to NOT comb your hair DRY.
sounds crazier, right?

If you have no clue about curly girl method, this might be so weird to you at first but believe me, it's worth a try.  When you comb your hair dry, the natural shape of your curl is disturbed and you are left w something like this:

But this doesn't mean you shouldn't detangle your hair. Do this in the shower. Let me break the most common myth: no. your hair WON'T become weak or break more if you'll comb them wet. And this is for any hair type.
You can use a detangler or conditioner or oil (olive and coconut oils are my fav!) to detangle your hair.
- Just part your hair into small sections and work w them one by one.
- Saturate your hair w detangler/conditioner/oil.
- Take a wide tooth comb and start detangling them from ends to roots, lightly and patiently.
Keep in mind that you use only a wide tooth comb or a detangler brush for detangling your hair.

 #2 Cleaning
Cleaning your hair is very important. But this doesn't mean that you should grab just any shampoo w/o glancing at the ingredients just because it says 'shampoo'.
Here's another thing you should know: not all shampoos that say "for all hair type" are for all hair types.
Curly hair is sensitive. They are like little newborn babies. They need extra care to shine. You should not use shampoos with sulfates in them. The sulfates will drag moisture from your hair- something your hair need. And the worst part: most of the shampoos in the market contains sulfates.
Now you may ask if sulfates are bad for hair, why they put them in the shampoos?
That's because they are good cleaning agents. They are found in detergents and dish washing soaps for cleaning dirt and oil out of the clothes and dishes. But as I said, curly hair is sensitive. They need moisture. So, you need to cut sulfates out of your hair wash products.
The non-sulfate shampoos contain mild cleansing agents, but trust me, they clean well. You always have options for deep cleaning if your hair feels too dirty.

How to know if my shampoo has sulfates in it?
- Look at the ingredient lists at the backside of the shampoo bottle.
- The sulfates usually have big names but the last name is always 'sulfate'.
- If you see it in the ingredient list of your any hair product, and you are curly,

Where can I find sulfate-free shampoo?
If they aren't available in the stores, you can always look for them online. The one that I am using and my current fav is by  Shea Moisture. I have also used one by Iha but it gave me a lot of acne somehow, so I don't use it. You can definitely try new products if you wish to.

PROTIP: If you can't find sulfate free shampoo at the moment or you don't wanna buy one, you can always opt for the clarifying rinse. All you need to do is add a tableful spoon of baking soda in a bottle of water and rinse your hair w this. Massage your scalp well to break build up. Then rinse w clear water.

Another important step. If you shampoo your hair and you skip conditioner, you are doing it wrong babe. But if you are using just any conditioner, you are still doing it wrong. Most of the conditioners out in the market contains silicones which are, again, not good for your hair.

How to know if my conditioner has silicones?
- Look for the ingredients at the back side of the bottle.
- Search for the products w suffix -cone, -cane, -col, -conol, -xane. These are the compounds w silicone in them.
- If you find such an ingredient in the list, THROW THE PRODUCT AWAY!

Silicone will dry your hair and this will ultimately strip moisture out, which you don't wanna see happening. You can always search for silicone free conditioners online if you aren't able to find them in the local stores.

PROTIP: If you find a product online but the selling site hasn't provided the ingredient list, search for its review on the internet. All the reviewers provide full ingredient list on their websites.

You should always condition your hair and never your roots. This will prevent the volume loss, and also this won't weaken your hair roots.
- Turn your head upside down and take two pumps of conditioner on your hand.
- Spread the product on your palm and smooth it down your hair.
- Gently scrunch your hair.
If you want, you can wash it after 4-5minutes (or more). If no, then you can leave it as such. It will act as a leave in.

 #4 Moisturize
Well, conditioner is to moisturize your hair. But if you are a curlyhead, and you have dry hair, you need to use extra product to have beautiful bouncy lively curls! Leave in conditioner can play a big role in this task. It is basically a conditioner, which you can put on your hair after wash and it will provide extra nourishment and hold to your hair, leaving your hair pretty and fresh!
- Take a good amount of leave in on your hand.
- Spread it on your palms.
- Bring your head upside down.
- Glide the leave in down your hair.
- Then scrunch!
It is better for your hair to put oil/serum after leave in. It will create a 'shield' and will lock the moisture in your hair.  Also, the oil's gonna reflect light and make your hair shine like a star!!
You can also section your hair and work w them. But don't forget to scrunch them!

 #5 Styling
An important part of going curly is helping your hair stay curly; probably the most important. Hair gels and mousses will be your best friends for this. But you need to watch out babe, there's a lot of evil in this world. Before buying any product, go through the ingredient list at least twice. You don't wanna buy a product w silicone in your natural hair journey. do you?
You can also DIY your own gels. Aloe & flaxseed have been my fav for this task. though i have never made flaxseed gel.

There are different methods of styling curls. You can simply scrunch, finger coil, twist out, or you can just "rake and shake". Let me know if you guys want me to do a whole post 'bout styling curls. I'd love to do it!♥

Cutting sulfates and silicones from your shampoo & conditioner ain't enough. Make sure none of the product you use should have them.

Maybelline Duo: All In One BB creme and White Superfresh Compact.

"she wears all black, just like her soul; still her heart made of gold."

Welcome back to my blog! Recently, I ran out of BB and CC creme and I had to buy one. I wanted to try a new brand so I went w Maybelline. Well, I am already up w coloressence compact but buying one by Maybelline along w it's BB, wasn't that bad idea, was it?
Today's post is the first impression on the ultimate Maybelline Duo: All In One BB creme and White Superfresh Compact.

So, w/o further talking, let's dive into the Maybelline world!

Starting off w the bb creme, I kinda liked its packaging, though it was normal. It comes in a tube w
18 ml product for ₹250/-But the tube does not has any kind of seal, which is a minus point.
The self-life of the product is 36 months.
It's available in 03 shades (01 nude, 02 radiance, 03 natural), which match the common Indian skin tone. Mine is the middle one, 02 radiance. It has SPF 21 PA++ so it claims to protect your skin from rays.
The consistency is nice. It has the typical BB aroma, but don't worry it fades away in minutes, once applied. It provides medium coverage, which is satisfactory.
It claims to:
-give you visibly brighter and radiant skin
-conceal blemishes and imperfections
-visibly minimize pores
-even your skin tone
-smooth looking texture and hydrate skin all day.

-Take a bit of product on the back of your hand.
-Warm the product by blending it with your finger.
-Dot the product all over your face and neck.
-Blend it using a sponge or brush.

Well, I like the fact that it's a well-tested product and it's suitable for sensitive skin too.

I liked the product. It majorly provides what it claims. It deals w blemishes and pores on a satisfactory level. It does even your skin tone and the skin turns visibly brighter. But the fact that it does not provide matte finish is a con for me. That means when you'll step out in the sun wearing this product only, you're gonna sweat. Well, this is not a thing to neglect if you have oily skin. The formula was suitable for my skin type but if you have dry skin, it may not be hydrating. It has SPF 21 PA++ which means you have to put sunscreen on if you stay in a hot place like India.
ps: According to the dermatologist, the suitable SPF for India is SPF 50.

1. provides brighter and glowy skin.
2.evens skin tone and minimizes pores.
3.suitable for all skin types.
4. Provides smooth texture.

1. The product is not sealed.
2. Not hydrating for all skin types.
3. It has less SPF, hence does not protect skin from sun rays (as claimed).

Let's move to Maybelline New York White Super Fresh Compact. It comes in a typical compact package, nothing special. There is 8g of product for ₹150/-
The self-life is for24 months, which is pretty nice.
It comes in 04 shades (pearl, shell, coral, and marble) where coral is the lightest and marble is the darkest shade. Mine is shell (medium-wheatish skin). It has SPF 28/PA+++,  so definitely you're gonna wear sunscreen before putting this product on. It has a really light flowery aroma, which might be irritable to some fo you.
Its plus point is that it contains perlite, which is a "bulking absorbent" and it is used for visibly perfecting skin. Hence, it absorbs sweat and oil and provides a matte finish.
It claims to:
-provide 12 hrs fresh and perfect look
-prevent sweat and oil
-protect skin from sun darkening and damage.

Well, the product provides all that it claims except total protection from the sun. Also, it is mentioned on the carton to use extra sun protectant for intense sun exposure.

I have tried this duo and it is perfect. The BB creme provides perfection and glow and the compact sets and mattifies everything.
I'll give this duo a thumbs up.

My SUMMER🌞 Skincare Routine 2017.

" what's comin' will come and we'll meet it when it does."
Welcome to my blog! So the summer is here! It's May already and now it gets so hot for the whole day. The weather changes so do my skincare routine. So in today's post, I'll be sharing my Summer SkinCare Routine. This one is for Night Time, like what I do daily after the day. Well, I actually have a weekly skincare routine too. I hope I'll soon be posting it soon. All the products that I use are mentioned in the comments below.
Anyways, let's begin with today's post!

I begin my night skincare by wiping off my face w/ a face wipe, just so as to wipe dirt off my face. If I'd be wearing makeup, then I clean it off too. I actually have a few easy ways to remove makeup. Lemme know if you want me to do a post on that.

Next, I grab my VLCC Mulberry and Rose fairness face wash and wash my face. Tbh I have no craze of fairness but yes, for clear skin and this one claims to reduce blemishes, so why not! It has orange and lemon🍋 extracts too and plus point, it literally smells like oranges!🍊

I absolutely love scrubs. They always make my skin so soft and smooth and clear. Well, here's some scrubby thing: there are basically two kinds of scrubs- a)daily scrubs b) weekly scrubs
(ps.self named for easy understanding).

Daily scrubs are soft scrubs. Their granules are small and not too tough w skin. They are mainly cellulose or jojoba wax based. Whenever you see any these two words on a scrub, grab it for your daily scrubbing schedule, if you are a scrubby baby.

Weekly scrubs are comparatively hard scrubs. They have comparatively larger granules. Walnut and apricot scrubs fall under this category. You can use these weekly or once in three days, however you like. But DONOT use these scrubs daily. We have the first kind for that.
ps. Don't develop a bad image for this kind of scrubs. They are perfect for deep cleaning if you don't have enough time for daily scrubbing.

I am currently using my all time fav Everyouth's walnut face scrub. Definitely, I don't use it daily. Hence, I shouldn't have mentioned it here. But anyways 😋

After washing my face, I move to toning my skin.

Any Tony❤ lover from 13 reasons why?

Currently, I am using tea tree based toner by fabindia. This is the first time I am using this product and I am kinda liking it. I think I need some more time before actually reviewing it.
I just spray it all over my face and then I wipe it off w some cotton.

With my face is still kinda wet, I take a few drops (2-3) of my fav essential oil on my palm and rub them against each other and then I gently pat them my face. I use Rosemary essential oil whenever I wanna fight w acne and win. To fight anxiety and get my shine back, I use Lavender, which is basically all the time.

After that, I hop to my cremes! I use, ofc, Roop mantra skin creme, since this a product that helps me w acne; a lot.
Well, it could be a little drying sometimes. So to bring the moisture back to my skin, I use Nivea soft light moisturizer
And that's pretty all! I do this every single night. But when I am in a hurry or I have no time or some urgent thing do to, I wash my face and put on my skin creme. Ik skipping toner is not so cool, but sometimes prior things come in your way. And in those some times, it's totally okay.😉

Thank you for reading.
Comment if you know any good daily scrub. I am looking forward to trying new stuff.😉 Ask if you have any ques. in the comments below or any suggestions?
